This learning module focuses on strategies to promote better appetite and increase food intake in older people. Eating too little contributes to weight loss and nutritional deficiencies, as well as associated poor healthcare outcomes, including increased mortality. This module helps nurses understand the causes of reduced appetite and how to measure it.
