This short learning module helps nurses to identify who is at risk of sepsis and to prioritise aspects of care in the critical first hour after diagnosis. It will also guide them through a reflection of what they and their organisation can do to be more sepsis aware and to offer better care.

You may also like to listen to this Nursing Standard podcast, rcni.com/signs-of-sepsis, in which Sian Annakin, deteriorating patient team lead at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust and a sepsis practitioner, discusses what to watch out for in adults and what guidelines say about when and how to treat a patient with suspected sepsis.
