This learning module is aimed at familiarising nurses with the issues associated with providing good nutritional care for a patient with dementia in hospital. Strategies to maintain oral intake despite difficulties in eating and drinking safely are suggested. The module also explores the use of artificial nutrition, and has practical examples of when this can be helpful.
