Course description

This module aims to provide an evidence-informed review that will enable the learner to develop their knowledge of the assessment, nursing care and multimodal management of children and young people with chronic pain and their families.

After completing this module and time out activities you will be able to:

  • Outline assessment of chronic pain in children and understand the range of self-report measures
  • Summarise the various treatment strategies that comprise a multimodal approach to managing children's chronic pain
  • Discuss the nursing care associated with managing a child or young person who has chronic pain
