This learning module explores why older people in hospital can be at high risk of becoming malnourished and the effect hospital admission can have on their nutrition and fluid intake. It makes suggestions for addressing these issues, and encourages nurses to look at the nutritional care provided in their clinical area and consider how patients' experiences can be improved. Nutritional screening and care plans are discussed.
