This learning module summarises guidance on the diagnosis and management of community-acquired pneumonia, but also includes information on its prevention. This respiratory disease is a significant though often underestimated cause of morbidity and mortality. This module is designed therefore to be of value to nurses in a variety of clinical areas, as patients with community-acquired pneumonia are encountered in primary, intermediate, secondary, and critical care.
