Course description
This module aims to explore the factors that influence an individual's lifestyle behaviour choices, the importance of health promotion in generic clinical roles and how practitioners can best help patients to make healthier lifestyle choices.

Learning aims and intended outcomes
- Describe some of the theories, models and evidence relating to behaviour and behaviour change
- Explain why supporting patients to make positive health and wellbeing choices is important to clinical roles across healthcare
- Describe some barriers to, and facilitators of, behaviour change
- Enable patients to make informed choices about managing their own health and wellbeing, and where to access further support if necessary
- Provide opportunistic, brief advice and understand the principles involved in undertaking positive brief interventions
